Hokkei Totoya (Edo 1780 - Edo 1850) was one of the first and most well-known students of Hokusai, with a large body of work consisting of prints, book illustrations, and paintings. The Dochu gafu (Album of illustrations along the road) are color woodblock prints, in two shades of gray and one of pink, that reproduce views of locations and travelers along the Tōkaidō road.
