We are Marea (Tribute to Hokusai) was born from the collaboration between the artist GEC and the national collective of Friday for Future Italy. GEC listened to the requests of the young people, so each element represented in the sea is a symbol of this present strongly anchored to the past:
- oil barrel: energy production from fossil fuels
- tire and exhaust: unsustainable mobility and transport
- cut tree trunk: deforestation and land use
- bathtub: waste of drinking water
- plastic bottles: production of widely consumed industrial goods
- television: media responsibility
- armchair: political failure
The movement identifies itself with the propulsive force of the wave, in order to generate a change that is now mandatory.
Fridays for Future is a spontaneous and peaceful international movement, which recognizes Greta Thunberg as its prominent figure, but is formally leaderless. Fridays for Future aims, first and foremost, to keep the attention on the issue of climate change high, in order to transform it into a priority for the international political agenda. Specifically, it calls on governments to eliminate fossil fuels, achieving zero emissions globally by 2050 (in Italy by 2030). Goal: to limit the increase in global temperature to below 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial times.
Part of the proceeds will be used to support the movement, legal expenses, and the maintenance of the Turin headquarters.

Are the prints for sale original?
Absolutely yes. The gallery deals exclusively with original prints: lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, and screenprints from the 20th century, as well as a selection of Japanese prints by Masters such as Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Utamaro, and contemporary artists specializing in art prints. Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity on letterhead, with precise information on the author, technique, condition, and, where available, edition size, references to catalogues raisonnés, and bibliography.
What are the dimensions of the artwork?
The actual image dimensions are provided in centimeters or millimeters, in the order of height by width. Upon request, it is also possible to obtain the dimensions of the white margins of the print sheet. Some works include renderings that offer an indicative simulation of the framed artwork displayed as a decorative element.
Can I buy a print as a gift?

Can I return the item?
Certainly, as required by law: once you receive the print, if you are not satisfied with the purchase, you can return it. The shipping costs for returning the artwork in its original condition are your responsibility. For online purchases, a refund is provided. For gallery purchases, it is possible to obtain an exchange or a voucher of equal value to the returned artwork. We would like to specify that exchanges can also be made to acquire works of lesser value than the originally purchased artwork, receiving a voucher for the difference. Any withdrawal request must be submitted via email within 14 days of receiving the artwork.
