Mandala, Tempera and gold on canvas, painted in the Buddhist Thangka school of the town of Leh.(mm. 150x150)
The Mandala represents the universe and its forces, particularly in Tibetan Buddhism, where they represent the temple in which the deities reside. These representations are used for meditation and contemplation, in order to achieve a state of enlightenment. A kaleidoscope of geometric shapes: circles, squares, and triangles that project us into a spiritual world, in which we feel deeply at peace.
Thangka, also written Tangka, Thanka, or Tanka, paintings that usually depict the life of the Buddha or a Mandala. They were and still are used as a tool for meditation and teaching within monasteries and the homes of the faithful.
On the back of each painting is the blessing mantra Om Ah Hum, whose meaning, certainly more complex, can be summarized as blessing and purification of the body, speech, and mind.
