Verena Loewensberg (Zurich 1912-1986) was a Swiss painter and designer, a representative of concrete art. Her initial training took place in the field of textile design, but she soon turned to the visual arts, particularly abstract painting. In the 1930s, Loewensberg came into contact with the artistic language of De Stijl and Bauhaus, absorbing the influence of artists like Piet Mondrian. Later, she was among the founders of the Swiss concrete art movement, along with Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, and Camille Graeser, with whom she shared a strong interest in geometry, the purity of forms, and chromatic rigor.
Her work was characterized by balanced geometric compositions, sharp colors, and a refined sense of visual rhythm. Unlike other representatives of concrete art, Loewensberg often introduced a freer and more intuitive component into her approach, experimenting with variations in module and color. Throughout her career, she remained connected to the Swiss art scene but maintained contacts with international artists of geometric abstraction. In addition to painting, she also dedicated herself to producing screen prints and graphic design, contributing to the influence of concrete art in various fields.

The gallery deals exclusively with original prints: lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, and screenprints from the 20th century, as well as a selection of Japanese prints by Masters such as Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Utamaro, and contemporary artists specializing in art prints. Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity on letterhead, with precise information on the author, technique, condition, and, where available, edition size, references to catalogues raisonnés, and bibliography.
What are the dimensions of the artwork?
The actual image dimensions are provided in centimeters or millimeters, in the order of height by width. Upon request, it is also possible to obtain the dimensions of the white margins of the print sheet. Some works include renderings that offer an indicative simulation of the framed artwork displayed as a decorative element.

The shipping costs for returning the artwork in its original condition are your responsibility. For online purchases, a refund is provided. For gallery purchases, it is possible to obtain an exchange or a voucher of equal value to the returned artwork. We would like to specify that exchanges can also be made to acquire works of lesser value than the originally purchased artwork, receiving a voucher for the difference.
