Commentary
The idea of abundance is carried forward from the previous view to create this appropriate conclusion to the first volume of the One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji. The rice bales, protected by straw mats, are stacked to resemble Fuji, which rises in the background. A flock of small birds (chidori) descends to peck at the scattered grains.
Senkin literally means "a thousand pieces of gold," and by extension, "an invaluable gift" or "invaluable generosity." This concept is further reinforced by Hokusai's use of a different ideogram than the one previously used to write the name Fuji; this ideogram means "prosperous man."
The generosity of the mountain, already introduced in the previous plate, is thus the concluding theme of the first volume.

Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity on letterhead, with precise information on the author, technique, condition, and, where available, edition size, references to catalogues raisonnés, and bibliography.
What are the dimensions of the artwork?
The actual image dimensions are provided in centimeters or millimeters, in the order of height by width. Upon request, it is also possible to obtain the dimensions of the white margins of the print sheet. Some works include renderings that offer an indicative simulation of the framed artwork displayed as a decorative element.
