Japanese engraver and painter, Utagawa Hiroshige is considered one among the main Japanese landscape artists of the nineteenth century and among the most famous representatives of the Ukiyo-e artistic movement. The his artistic production, which includes about 400 engravings, features various genres (prints of actors, warriors, courtesans…), but the main subject of his art is nature in its multiple expressions, which the master always depicts in a subtle and poetic manner, capturing thea peculiar essence of the Japanese landscape. Lto the most famous of this production is titled One Hundred Famous Views of Edo that has extraordinary influence on European painting impressionist and post-impressionist, being imitateda by various artists, including Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh.
