Collection: Guillaume Corneille
(Liège 1922 - Auvers sur Oise 2010)
Guillaume Corneille, co-founder of the revolutionary CoBrA group, was a leading figure in European abstract expressionism. Although famous for his vibrant and primal painting, the artist found in original graphics a fundamental expressive channel, characterized by an exceptional freedom of line and a bold use of color.

The material power of Guillaume Corneille
Through lithography and etching, Corneille was able to transfer onto paper the same material power of his canvases, translating his personal bestiary and his landscape visions into vibrant color fields and clear outlines. The dedication and high technical level of his graphic production were officially recognized internationally in 1956, the year he won the prestigious Graphic Award at the Venice Biennale.
