Collection: Agam Yaacov
(Rishon LeZion 1928)
A prominent figure in Kinetic Art and Optical Art, Yaacov Agam has dedicated his artistic research to the inclusion of movement and temporality in the artwork. Internationally renowned for his contributions to institutions such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Guggenheim in New York, the artist has found in graphic experimentation a fertile ground to explore visual perception and its instability.
Agam is recognized for the invention of an innovative printing technique, Agamography, which allows for combining multiple images and different subjects within a single work: through geometric decomposition, the various graphic elements alternate and overlap. The result is a work that radically changes appearance with the shift in the observer's viewpoint. Thanks to this technique, Agam has managed to give graphics, a traditionally static and instantaneous art, a significant element of dynamism.
