Mandala, Tempera and gold on canvas, painted in the Thangka Buddhist school of the town of Leh. (mm.150x150)

Mandalas are the representation of the universe and its forces, particularly in Tibetan Buddhism, they represent the temple where the deities reside. These pictures are used for meditation and contemplation in order to achieve a state of enlightenment. A kaleidoscope of geometric shapes: circles, squares and triangles that project us into a spiritual world, in which we feel deeply at peace.

Thangka , also spelled Tangka, Thanka or Tanka, paintings that usually depict the life of the Buddha or a Mandala. They were and still are used as an instrument of meditation and teaching within the monasteries and homes of the faithful.

On the back of each painting, the blessing mantra Om Ah Hum, whose meaning, certainly more complex, can be summarized in blessing and purification of the body, speech and mind.
