The view seems to illustrate a peasant folklore saying from the Taga no ura area, south of Fuji in the province of Sagami. When the melting snow draws a figure representing a nootoko , laborer, on the slopes of Fuji, this is an auspicious sign for a very rich harvest.

Designed in imitation of the mountain, the nets to cover the harvest, protection from birds looking for food.
