Thus, Cubism was born, whose starting point was the necessity to oppose the mechanical reproduction of the real and the supposed superficiality of observation of previous currents, particularly Impressionism: the external world was not to be merely seen, it had to be understood.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003ePablo Picasso as an engraver and lithographer\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePicasso was, without a doubt, the artist who \u003cstrong\u003ebrought the art of printmaking to its highest stylistic levels\u003c\/strong\u003e, in a path parallel to that of painting and never subordinated to it.
