Gorgeous and rare test with excellent colors. Imprinted on Japanese paper between 1950 and 1963, as per engraver and publisher's stamps. In perfect condition, with excellent margins all around beyond the marginal line, beautiful bokashi shades. Kofuku-ji pagoda is the second tallest pagoda in Japan, after that of To-ji temple.

After moving to Tokyo at the age of fifteen, Koitsu studied for many years with woodblock artist Kobayashi Kiyochika. Known for his beautiful landscape prints and dramatic use of light and shadow, Koitsu was one of the greatest masters of Shin-hanga.
