Splendid proof with good contrasts, in the third edition from the original woodcuts. Printed on Japan paper, in excellent condition, with clean edges all around beyond the marginal line.

Fuji veiled by the smoke of a fire of dry leaves in the propitiatory rite to Saruta Hiko no Kami revered as god of the road, given his habitual settlement at the crossroads of the paths of heaven.
On the stele, at the top, the carved inscription Shomen Kongo, divinity of the paths, in the Edo period. In a barely mentioned bas-relief, the three little monkeys, attendants of the god: Mizaru, the little monkey meaning 'I don't see', Iwazaru, 'I don't speak' and Kikazaru, 'I don't hear'.
